Dimensions 1 1/8-1 7/8" (28-48 mm).
Endangered Status Two subspecies of the Edith's Checkerspot are on the U.S. Endangered Species List. The Quino Checkerspot and the Bay Checkerspot are classified as endangered in California. Both subspecies have suffered extensively from the loss of their habitat to development.
Habitat Forests & woodlands, Shorelines & salt marshes, Scrub, shrub & brushlands, Grasslands & prairies, Alpine & subalpine habitats.
Range Northwest, Western Canada, Rocky Mountains, California, Southwest.
